Yucca Valley, CA (September 25, 2025) – Two people were hospitalized following a dirt bike accident in Yucca Valley on Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The incident occurred around 1:48 p.m. on September 20 along Aberdeen Drive near Balsa Avenue. CHP officials reported that an underage rider was operating a 2002 Honda dirt bike with an 18-year-old passenger onboard.
The dirt bike reportedly failed to yield the right of way and entered the path of a gray 2019 Cadillac XT5. The collision ejected both the rider and passenger from the dirt bike. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported both victims to Desert Regional Medical Center. The rider sustained minor injuries, while the passenger suffered major but non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities noted that the location of the accident is a prohibited area for off-road vehicle use. CHP continues to investigate the crash to determine if additional factors contributed to the collision.
Our thoughts are with those affected by this accident.

Dirt bike accidents can cause serious injuries, especially when collisions involve passenger vehicles. Riders and passengers are often at greater risk of harm because dirt bikes lack the protective features found in cars, such as seat belts and airbags. Even a relatively low-speed impact can result in severe injuries like broken bones, head trauma, and spinal cord damage.
In California, off-road riding in prohibited areas is a recurring problem. Roads like Aberdeen Drive are not designed for dirt bike use, which increases the likelihood of collisions with cars and other vehicles. According to safety experts, failing to yield and riding in restricted zones are among the leading causes of dirt bike crashes on public roadways.
Victims of these accidents often face significant challenges, from extensive medical treatment to long recovery periods. Families may also deal with financial strain as medical bills accumulate and injured individuals are unable to work or attend school.
When accidents occur, injured riders and passengers may have the right to seek financial recovery. Our experienced personal injury attorney can investigate the circumstances of the crash, identify who was at fault, and pursue compensation for victims.
