W Covina, CA - Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on W Puente Ave at 10 Fwy

West Covina, CA (February 22, 2025) – A car traveling on the wrong side of the road in West Covina crashed into another car and killed a passenger on Friday, February 21, the West Covina Police Department said.

At around 12:15 a.m., officers responded to a collision on the 1700 block of West Puente Avenue, north of the 10 Freeway, according to a news release. Investigators determined that a wrong-way driver in a black Toyota sedan crashed into a white Honda sedan carrying four people. A man in the backseat of the Honda was declared dead at the scene.

The Honda’s other occupants, two men and a woman, were taken to nearby hospitals. Details about their injuries were not available, however one occupant was listed in critical condition, another said to be in stable condition and a third was treated and released. The driver of the Toyota, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital in critical condition. That said, the investigation continues at this time, and no further details were released.
