Victorville, CA - Man Hit & Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Monte Vista Rd

Victorville, CA (April 30, 2025) – A man was killed after being struck by a pickup truck while riding a motorized mobility scooter in Victorville early Wednesday morning, April 30.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred at approximately 3:50 a.m. near the intersection of Monte Vista Road and Dos Palmas Road. Deputies and emergency crews with the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response arrived to find the scene of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision involving a white Ford F-150 and a man on a mobility scooter.

Authorities said the truck was traveling southbound on Monte Vista Road when it struck the man, who was later identified as 48-year-old Richard M. of Victorville. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Ford F-150 remained at the location and cooperated with investigators. The Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded and took over the investigation.
