Stanislaus Co, CA - Child Rescued from Accident at Canal Bank & Arlberg Rds

Stanislaus County, CA (March 9, 2025) – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) say that a crash that happened east of Hickman late Saturday night resulted in one car falling into a canal, trapping a child.

At about 11:00 p.m., authorities and emergency personnel responded to the area of Canal Bank and Arlberg Roads for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a canal. The child was seriously injured, but it's unclear who else was transported from the site. Authorities are urging witnesses or anyone with information about the crash to come forward; in the interim, an investigation is still ongoing.
