Sierraville, CA (July 8, 2025) – The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is asking witnesses for help finding a man who fled the scene of a motorcycle crash, leaving a woman unconscious at the scene.
CHP says that on Saturday, July 5, at around 1:30 p.m., the motorcycle hit a dirt berm after a crash along State Route 89, ejecting both riders from the bike. The woman was found unconscious and left in the ditch where the crash happened; the man fled the scene with the assistance of some other motorcycle riders. The woman suffered major injuries and was flown to a hospital in Reno and remains in critical condition. No additional details about the crash have been released, but an investigation is ongoing.
We hope the woman injured in this accident recovers quickly.
