Selma, CA – Three Injured After Car Crashes Into Wooden Structure on Hwy 99 Near Floral Ave

Selma, CA (September 1, 2025) – Three people were injured on Labor Day after a car rolled over and crashed into a wooden structure along Highway 99 in Selma. Firefighters reported that the collision happened near the Floral Avenue exit on Monday, September 1, where the vehicle came to rest on its side after striking the structure.

Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene to provide aid. According to authorities, all three occupants of the vehicle sustained minor injuries. Paramedics treated the victims, and additional medical support was provided as needed. Fortunately, none of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

The crash left visible damage to the wooden structure and temporarily disrupted traffic in the area as crews worked to secure the roadway and remove the vehicle. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and officials have not yet indicated whether speed, distraction, or impairment may have been factors.

Firefighters used the incident as a reminder for the public to practice safe driving, particularly during busy holiday weekends when traffic volumes increase.

We wish the victims a smooth recovery.

Holiday Traffic and Rollover Crash Risks

Holiday weekends often see heavier traffic volumes, which can lead to an increased number of collisions. Drivers may be traveling longer distances, rushing to destinations, or experiencing fatigue, all of which contribute to accidents. Law enforcement and fire departments across California frequently remind motorists to remain cautious during these periods to reduce the risk of crashes like the one on Highway 99.

Rollover accidents are especially dangerous. Even when vehicles are traveling at moderate speeds, the force of impact can cause them to tip and overturn. Occupants face a heightened risk of head trauma, spinal injuries, or being trapped inside the vehicle. In this case, although three people sustained only minor injuries, rollover crashes often result in far more serious outcomes.

Investigators typically review several factors in rollover collisions. They examine whether excessive speed, sudden maneuvers, or roadway conditions contributed. Vehicle design may also play a role, as taller vehicles like SUVs and trucks are more prone to rolling over compared to lower-profile cars.

For victims, the consequences of rollover accidents can extend beyond physical injuries. Even minor injuries may require medical treatment, follow-up appointments, and time away from work. Families may also experience stress as they manage medical bills, vehicle repairs, and the emotional impact of being involved in a serious crash.

Legal options may be available to victims of rollover accidents. Personal injury claims can help recover compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, property damage, and pain and suffering. Establishing liability is key, as it determines whether driver negligence, road conditions, or other factors were responsible.

Attorneys with experience in car accident cases play a vital role in protecting victims’ rights. They gather evidence, consult with experts, and negotiate with insurance companies to ensure that injured individuals receive fair compensation. Their support allows victims to focus on recovery while knowing their case is being handled with care.
