San Jose, CA (March 3, 2025) – A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle early Sunday morning, March 2, in San Jose's fourth fatal traffic collision of the year, the police department said. Officers found the man suffering from major injuries around 2:15 a.m. in the 1700 block of South White Road, San Jose police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
A preliminary investigation found that a man driving a 2005 Buick SUV was going south on South White Road near Park Lane when he hit the pedestrian. The driver stayed at the site and was cooperative with police, authorities confirmed. Authorities did not immediately name the person killed, pending confirmation of their identity and notification of their next of kin.
