Witnesses at Powerhouse Park along Coast Boulevard in Del Mar saw a vehicle drive over a curb, into a sign, through bushes, landing in the park around 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, hitting and injuring two people.

San Diego Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene. Two people were hit by the vehicle and taken to the hospital with reported non-life-threatening injuries, authorities say. Deputies report an elderly man is believed to have hit the gas instead of the brake, leading to the crash.
