San Diego, CA - Injuries Reported in Wrong-Way Collision on I-15 SB

San Diego, CA (June 21, 2025) – A wrong-way driver caused a traffic collision on Interstate 15 south in San Diego Saturday afternoon, June 21, police report.

At least two vehicles were involved in a crash when a BMW SUV was reportedly driving the wrong way on Interstate 15 South in the HOV lane, closing several lanes of traffic just after 3:00 p.m. Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP reports a vehicle swerved out of the way of the BMW, which then hit another SUV while driving north in the southbound lanes of I-15 near the 52 highway interchange.

CHP reports that at least one person was taken to the hospital following the collision. In the meantime, CHP is asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them with information that could help with their investigation.
