Pedestrian collisions remain a persistent safety issue in San Bernardino, particularly along major intersections such as West Mill Street and South E Street, where heavy traffic and limited visibility increase the risk of accidents. These incidents frequently result in severe or life-threatening injuries due to the vulnerability of pedestrians compared to motor vehicles.
According to the California Office of Traffic Safety, San Bernardino County continues to report some of the highest pedestrian injury rates in the Inland Empire. Common contributing factors include driver inattention, speeding, and failure to yield at marked crosswalks. Evening hours pose additional risks due to reduced lighting and increased vehicle flow.
Victims of pedestrian accidents often face extensive medical treatment, rehabilitation, and significant financial strain. When a driver’s negligence contributes to a collision, injured pedestrians may pursue compensation for medical expenses, lost income, and other damages through a personal injury claim. Prompt legal action helps ensure that victims’ rights are protected and that those responsible are held accountable.
