Sacramento, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle at 24th St & 47th Ave

Sacramento, CA (September 29, 2025) – A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle on Sunday, September 28, near 24th Street and 47th Avenue, according to the Sacramento Police Department (SPD).

Officers responded just after 8:00 a.m. to multiple reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle on a roadway adjacent to the Sacramento Executive Airport. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where they later died from their injuries.

SPD reported that the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities stated that DUI does not appear to have been a factor in the crash.

Due to the severity of the incident, detectives from the department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit took over the case. Police temporarily closed 24th Street between 43rd and 47th Avenues around 9:30 a.m. to conduct their investigation. The roadway was later reopened at approximately 5:28 p.m.

The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been released pending notification of family members. The investigation remains ongoing.
