Roseville, CA (July 16, 2025) – A man and a woman from Roseville who died in a head-on crash on Highway 70 in Yuba County on Friday have been identified.
Officials confirmed Puneet Singh Sohi and Premjeet Brar, both aged 41, died in the crash. Four others, including two children, suffered serious injuries. The crash was reported around 5:15 p.m. near Boyer Road, north of Marysville, according to the California Highway Patrol. A Toyota, driving southbound on the highway, lost control and veered into northbound lanes, crashing into a Honda.
Officers on the scene found two damaged vehicles with multiple occupants. Sohi in the Honda died at the scene from his injuries, CHP said. The passenger, Brar, was transported to an area hospital, where she died from her injuries. The two children in the car, a 4-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl, were also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The occupants in the Toyota were identified as an 18-year-old man and a woman from Brentwood. They were both taken to the hospital with serious injuries. CHP said it was unknown if DUI was a factor in the crash. That said, the investigation remains ongoing at this time, and no further details have been released.
