Rosemont, CA (June 15, 2025) – A driver is dead and two others, including a child, are injured after a crash in the Rosemont area of Sacramento County on Sunday evening, June 15, officials said.
The California Highway Patrol and Sacramento Metro Fire responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of S. Watt Avenue and Kiefer Boulevard around 5:50 p.m.
The CHP said a man was driving a Lexus sedan south of S. Watt Avenue alone. A woman was driving an Infiniti sedan east on Kiefer Boulevard with a man and a child in the vehicle. Officers said a vehicle ran a red light, and at this time, it's not known which vehicle ran the light.
The driver of the Infiniti was rushed to the hospital with major injuries, where she later died, the CHP said. The man in the Infiniti suffered moderate injuries, and the child suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Lexus was not injured, according to the CHP. It's not known if DUI was a factor in the crash, CHP said. Officials have not disclosed the identities of anyone involved, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities are urging witnesses or anyone with information about the crash to come forward.
We offer our sincere condolences to the deceased victim's family members. Our thoughts are also with the injured in hopes of their full recovery.
Serious Car Accidents in California
Motor vehicle crashes remain an unfortunate reality across California’s roads, leaving many families to confront severe injuries, costly property damage, and lasting emotional distress. Under the state’s fault-based system, anyone harmed by a negligent or reckless driver may pursue compensation for medical treatment, lost earnings, pain and suffering, and other related losses.
California’s comparative-negligence rule allows recovery even when the injured person shares some blame; any award is simply reduced by that individual’s percentage of fault. Acting quickly after a collision is essential. Prompt medical attention ties injuries to the crash, while timely photographs, witness statements, and the official police report preserve critical evidence for negotiations or litigation. Because most personal injury lawsuits must be filed within two years of the accident date, early legal guidance helps protect your rights, safeguard key proof, and maximize the compensation needed to heal and rebuild.
If you or a loved one has been injured in a car accident caused by negligence, consulting with an experienced auto accident attorney can make all the difference. A skilled attorney will handle the legal complexities, negotiate with insurance companies, and fight to secure the compensation you deserve.
An experienced personal injury attorney can also identify every party that may share liability, such as an employer whose on-duty driver caused the crash, an automaker with a defective component, or a public agency that failed to remedy a dangerous roadway design. By securing data from event recorders, reviewing cellphone logs, consulting accident-reconstruction specialists, and analyzing maintenance records, legal counsel can present a compelling claim to insurers or, if necessary, a jury, ensuring you pursue the full measure of compensation available under California law.
