Riverside, CA - Hit-and-Run Collision on I-215 at Columbia Ave Injures Victim

Riverside, CA (January 3, 2025) – Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who fled from the scene of a crash on I-215 in Riverside on Tuesday morning, December 31.

The incident happened at around 11:30 a.m. on the Columbia Avenue off-ramp of southbound lanes of the freeway, according to troopers with the California Highway Patrol.

Officers say that the driver of a sedan crashed into another car while exiting, which caused the sedan to crash into the guardrail and knock over several street signs, and then fled the site. One person was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries, officials with the Riverside Fire Department confirmed.

However, officials have not disclosed the identities of those involved, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities are urging witnesses or anyone with information about the crash to come forward.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their loved ones. We hope for their full recovery at this time.

Auto Accidents in California

Accidents involving motor vehicles, including those that hit another vehicle or person and ultimately flee the scene, are regrettably the norm on the roads of the state of California. These occurrences have the potential to cause victims and their families to suffer from mental anguish, as well as major property damage and life-threatening injuries.

In the state of California, victims of automobile accidents, as well as their affected family members, have the legal right to seek compensation for costs associated with medical care, lost income, pain, and suffering, and other damages that were caused by drivers who were negligent or reckless. The state of California operates under a comparative negligence system, which implies that victims can still recover damages even if they are partially at blame, with their compensation being reduced correspondingly.

During the aftermath of an accident, it is important to take prompt action for several reasons, including the protection of your legal rights, the documentation of injuries, and the preservation of evidence. Because the statute of limitations for personal injury claims in the state of California is two years, you must begin action as soon as you possibly can.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a car accident, consulting with an experienced auto accident attorney can make all the difference. A skilled attorney will handle the legal complexities, negotiate with insurance companies, and fight to secure the compensation you deserve.
