Phelan, CA (March 23, 2025) – A violent traffic collision on State Route 18 late Saturday night, March 22, left three people injured, including one critically, following a crash involving two vehicles.
The incident occurred just before 11:00 pm at the intersection of Johnson Road in the community of Phelan. The crash involved a 2021 Chevrolet Bolt EV and a 2002 GMC Yukon. Upon arrival, San Bernardino County Firefighters found the GMC Yukon overturned on its side while the Chevrolet remained upright but with extensive damage.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) incident logs reported that one male occupant from the overturned vehicle suffered a significant head injury with heavy bleeding. Emergency responders assessed the situation and determined two of the patients had delayed injuries, while one was in critical condition. However, there were no further details at the time of the crash. The investigation is continuing at this time, and witnesses were asked to step forward.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families. We hope for their complete recovery.
High-speed crashes, drunk driving, technical issues, or dangerous road conditions are frequently connected to car accidents resulting in subsequent vehicle fires. Moreover, the high temperatures and heavy traffic on California's freeways can increase the likelihood of car fires both during and after an accident.
Burns of the second and third degrees, smoke inhalation, severe brain injuries, and broken bones are some of the most common types of injuries that occur as a result of fire collisions. For victims, it is frequently necessary to receive long-term medical care, which may include surgical procedures, skin grafts, and rehabilitation. Due to the fact that survivors are dealing with traumatic experiences and the ramifications of their injuries that alter their lives, the emotional toll can frequently be quite significant.
When there is a fire involved in a car accident, it is not always easy to determine who is responsible. When an accident occurs, the person responsible for it could be a careless driver, the manufacturer of a defective automobile component, or even a third party that is responsible for unsafe road conditions. It is often necessary to conduct thorough investigations in order to determine who is at fault. These investigations may include car inspections, expert analysis, and crash reconstruction.
