Pasadena, CA - Two Dead, Several Injured in Wrong-Way Collision on 134 Fwy

Pasadena, CA (January 5, 2025) – Two people were killed on Sunday during a fiery collision caused by a wrong-way driver on the 134 Freeway in Pasadena, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place around 8:10 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway near North San Rafael Avenue, officers said. Though the exact circumstances leading up to the collision remain unclear, CHP says that it was a wrong-way driver incident.

Neither of the two deceased victims has been identified. Of the four other injured victims, officers say that three were in moderate condition while one suffered minor injury. A SigAlert issued for the westbound freeway at Orange Grove Boulevard was lifted at around 1:30 p.m.  That said, per officials, the investigation continues at this time, and no further details were provided in the interim.
