If you’re involved in a crash, it’s important to take the right steps for your health and future. Here's what you should keep in mind after an accident:

  • Get Medical Attention: Injuries can appear hours or even days after a crash. Always see a doctor, even if you feel okay immediately after the incident.
  • Request a Police Report: Law enforcement reports are critical for documenting facts, identifying at-fault parties, and supporting any legal claim.
  • Collect Evidence: If safe to do so, take photos of damage, injuries, debris, and the scene. Eyewitness accounts can also be valuable later.
  • Speak to Insurance Carefully: Give only basic facts when speaking to insurers. Avoid accepting blame or signing any documents without legal review.
  • Consult an Attorney: Legal guidance can help you avoid mistakes, maximize your compensation, and reduce stress throughout the recovery process.
