Bicycling is a common mode of transportation and recreation in Oxnard, but it comes with significant risks. Intersections like Simon Way and Vineyard Avenue can be especially hazardous due to heavy truck traffic, higher speeds, and limited visibility.
Collisions between bicycles and large trucks are often fatal. The sheer size and weight of a semi-truck make it nearly impossible for a cyclist to survive such an impact. Even when bicyclists wear helmets and follow traffic rules, they remain highly vulnerable.
Bicycle accidents frequently result in catastrophic injuries such as head trauma, spinal cord injuries, and internal damage. Sadly, many of these crashes end in fatalities, leaving families devastated.
Local authorities continue to encourage both drivers and bicyclists to stay alert. For drivers, this includes checking blind spots and yielding to cyclists when sharing the road. For bicyclists, it means using bike lanes where available, wearing reflective gear, and following all traffic laws.
When a fatal bicycle accident occurs, surviving family members often face overwhelming grief and financial hardship. In such cases, working with our wrongful death attorney can provide crucial support.
An attorney can investigate the accident, review police and medical reports, and determine liability. Families may be entitled to compensation for:

In accidents involving large trucks, cases can become complex due to multiple liable parties, including the truck driver, trucking company, or even maintenance contractors. A skilled attorney can navigate these complexities to ensure families receive the justice they deserve.
