Our thoughts are with those affected by this accident.

Hit and run accidents continue to be a serious issue in California, especially in urban areas like Oakland. These accidents often involve reckless or negligent drivers who cause harm and then flee the scene, leaving victims to suffer without recourse. In this recent crash, the driver’s decision to illegally turn into a bus-only lane put passengers at unnecessary risk, leading to injuries.
While the impact of hit and run accidents can vary, victims often face physical and emotional distress. In many cases, the at-fault driver is never found, leaving victims without the opportunity to hold the responsible party accountable. However, victims may still have the option of pursuing claims for their injuries through personal injury lawsuits or their own insurance coverage, especially if the driver is later identified.
Victims injured in a hit-and-run may be able to seek compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. In some cases, victims can recover from their own insurance policies through uninsured motorist coverage, which is why having proper insurance is so crucial.
