Needles, CA (June 15, 2025) – A fatal traffic collision involving two semi-trucks shut down all westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near the agricultural inspection station Sunday morning, resulting in one person's death, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at 10:48 a.m. on June 15, near the Agricultural Station outside of Needles. Initial CHP incident log entries indicated that two semi-trucks were involved, and one was reportedly hauling a UPS parcel trailer.

According to the log, both westbound lanes were completely blocked shortly after the crash, and a heavy-duty tow truck was requested to assist with clearing the vehicles.
