Natomas, CA - Two Airlifted, Teen Dies in Car Crash on I-80 near Vallejo

Natomas, CA (March 23, 2025) – A man was killed, and another was severely injured after being ejected from a vehicle involved in a crash on Interstate 80 in Solano County, the California Highway Patrol said.

The vehicle crash happened just after 6:00 p.m. Sunday on the eastbound lanes near American Canyon Road, east of Vallejo. According to highway patrol, a 19-year-old man and a 40-year-old man were ejected. A helicopter landed on the freeway to transport both men to the hospital. The California Highway Patrol said the 19-year-old died, and the 40-year-old man sustained major injuries.

Officers initially closed all eastbound lanes, later reopening one. By just before 8:00 p.m., all lanes were fully reopened. While the cause of the crash is still under investigation, officers have determined that speed was a factor. However, officials are urging witnesses to step forward with any information that might aid their investigation.
