Monrovia, CA (December 29, 2024) – A driver was killed after a wrong-way crash on the 210 Freeway in Monrovia early Sunday morning, police say.
Law enforcement officials received multiple reports of a driver traveling east in the westbound lanes of the 210 around 3:30 a.m. CHP officers located the vehicle – a white sedan – driving the wrong way at Rosemead Boulevard and eventually observed the sedan crash head-on into a pickup truck near the Huntington Drive exit, about three miles from where it was first spotted.
The two people inside the Ford pickup truck that was struck were transported by the fire department with unknown injuries, CHP said, while another motorist was pronounced dead at the site. In the meantime, an investigation is still ongoing, and no further details were provided.
We offer our deepest condolences to the deceased victim's loved ones. Our thoughts are also with the injured victims and their families at this time.
Fatal car accidents are an unfortunate reality on California’s busy roads and highways. Whether caused by distracted driving, speeding, or hazardous road conditions, the aftermath of an accident can be overwhelming. If you’ve been injured in a car accident, understanding your rights under California’s personal injury law is essential.
California follows a fault-based system, meaning the at-fault driver is responsible for covering damages through their insurance. However, determining fault isn’t always straightforward, and insurance companies often attempt to minimize payouts. This is where having an experienced personal injury attorney can make all the difference.
Under California law, injured parties have the right to seek compensation for medical bills, lost wages, property damage, and even non-economic losses like pain and suffering. California’s comparative negligence system means you can still recover damages even if you were partially at fault, though your compensation will be reduced proportionally.
Navigating the legal complexities of a car accident claim can be daunting, especially when you’re focused on recovery. Consulting a knowledgeable personal injury lawyer familiar with California’s laws ensures your rights are protected, and you have the best chance of securing fair compensation. You don't have to cope with the aftermath of a serious vehicle collision on your own; a qualified legal team can help you and yours today.
If you or a loved one has been injured in a car accident, don’t hesitate to seek legal guidance.
