Mina, CA - Man Killed in Vehicle Accident on SR 360

Mina, CA (June 22, 2025) – An 86-year-old California man died Thursday morning following a collision on State Route 360, approximately 30 miles south of Mina.

The fatal crash took place around 11:40 a.m. on June 19, near Mineral County mile marker 1. The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2021 Kenworth semi-truck, hauling a refrigerated trailer, was traveling northbound on SR 360. Ahead of the semi-truck, a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe, with its hazard lights activated, was also heading northbound.

According to authorities, the semi-truck moved into the southbound lane to pass the Tahoe. At that moment, the Tahoe reportedly made a left turn, attempting to access a dirt road and crossing into the southbound lane. The semi-truck's front left collided with the rear left of the Tahoe, causing the SUV to spin out.

The man was ultimately pronounced dead at the site, but it's unclear if any injuries were reported. Crews worked to clear the scene, causing temporary traffic delays in the surrounding area. The incident remains under investigation as officials work to determine the cause of the crash.
