Manteca, CA - Man Identified in Fatal Scooter Collision on Airport Way

Manteca, CA (June 21, 2025) – The man riding an electric scooter killed in a vehicle crash on June 20 in Manteca has been identified.

Steven Wilson, 57, of Manteca, was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital Friday night around 8:20 p.m., according to the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner's Office. Wilson was riding in the street near the 200 block of North Airport Way before the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, the Manteca Police Department said.

Police say he tried crossing to the west side of the street when he was hit by a car. The driver cooperated with the investigation. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash, however, and it's unclear if citations have been issued.
