Pedestrian accidents in Los Angeles can result in severe injuries due to the lack of protection pedestrians have compared to those in vehicles. In cities with heavy traffic and busy roads, pedestrians are particularly vulnerable. Even in low-speed collisions, these accidents can cause long-term physical and emotional damage.
Common injuries from pedestrian accidents include:
Fractures: Broken bones, especially in the arms, legs, or pelvis, often require surgical intervention and extensive recovery.
Head Injuries: Pedestrians hit by vehicles may suffer from traumatic brain injuries (TBI), ranging from concussions to more serious brain damage, affecting long-term brain function.
Spinal Cord Injuries: A spinal injury can lead to life-altering consequences, including paralysis or reduced mobility.
Internal Injuries: The impact from a vehicle can cause internal damage to organs and bleeding, often requiring immediate medical care.
Soft Tissue Injuries: Sprains and strains are common and can result in pain, swelling, and reduced movement.
