Hit-and-run incidents remain a persistent problem across Los Angeles, particularly on major roadways like Venice Boulevard, where heavy traffic and mixed vehicle-pedestrian activity increase the risk of serious crashes. Drivers who flee the scene of an accident not only violate state law but also endanger victims by delaying emergency response efforts.
According to the California Office of Traffic Safety, Los Angeles reports one of the highest numbers of hit-and-run cases in the state each year. These collisions often occur during nighttime or low-visibility conditions and frequently involve pedestrians or cyclists.
Victims of hit-and-run crashes often face serious physical injuries, medical expenses, and challenges obtaining compensation. In such cases, uninsured motorist coverage or civil legal action may provide a pathway to recovery. Legal professionals can assist victims by helping identify liable parties, coordinating with law enforcement, and pursuing available compensation through insurance or litigation.
