Los Angeles, CA - Kyle Welch Identified in Fatal Scooter Crash on Park Dr

Los Angeles, CA (June 4, 2025) – The man who was killed when the scooter he was riding was involved in a crash over the weekend in Shasta County was Kyle Welch, 34, of Cottonwood, the coroner said on Wednesday.

Welch was going south on Park Drive in Cottonwood when his electric scooter was involved in a crash with a Ford F-250 truck that was going west on Gas Point Road, the California Highway Patrol said. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash, however, and it's unclear if citations have been issued.
