Los Angeles, CA - Fatal Hit-and-Run on Sherman Way & DeSoto Ave

Los Angeles, CA (May 2, 2025) – A hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Sherman Way in Canoga Park early Friday morning has left one man dead.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal collision occurred around 1:15 a.m. on May 2nd at the intersection of DeSoto Avenue and Sherman Way. Investigators say a Northridge man was walking when he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Sherman Way.

Emergency crews from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene but were unable to save the victim, who was pronounced dead on arrival. The Northridge man’s identity was not released, but he is thought to be in his 60s, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff-Coroner.
