Long Beach, CA (January 5, 2025) – Two vehicles crashed onto a horse property in Long Beach Saturday, leaving the two drivers with injuries.
It happened around 7:20 p.m. in the 6900 block of Atlantic Avenue. According to the Long Beach Police Department, the driver of one vehicle was making a U-turn from southbound Atlantic Avenue to northbound Atlantic Avenue when it was hit by another driver heading southbound on Atlantic Avenue.
The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to slide down a nearby embankment, sending one of the vehicles through the gate of a horse property. Both drivers were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. There were also four children in one of the vehicles, but they were not seriously hurt, according to police. The incident remains under investigation. No further details regarding the circumstances of the collision or the identities of the patients were provided at the time, however.
Our thoughts are with those injured in this incident, and we hope for their fast recovery.
Car accidents on California's clogged roads every day can result in injuries, property damage, or even fatalities. Poor road conditions, speeding, reckless behavior, and distracted driving are some of the causes of the high incidence of collisions in the state.
California has a fault-based system, meaning the driver who caused the collision is responsible for the damages. Victims of auto accidents have the legal right to seek damages for lost income, medical costs, auto repairs, and other losses. Additionally, even if an injured party was partially at blame, they can still receive damages under California's comparative negligence system, though their compensation will be reduced.
After a vehicle accident, quick action is essential. Keeping track of evidence, getting police records, and getting medical help can all help support your claim. In California, the statute of limitations for filing a personal injury case is two years from the date of the accident, so it is critical to act quickly if a crash has occurred through no fault of your own and left you with damages.
