Imperial County, CA (January 28, 2025) – A six-day-old baby boy died on Monday afternoon, January 27, in a State Route 86 traffic accident, the California Highway Patrol said.

According to the CHP, at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Monday, the incident occurred on the southbound side of State Route 86, south of Brawley Avenue. As a result of the crash, a 37-year-old female passenger in one of the vehicles sustained major injuries, and a six-day-old male infant was killed.
