Hess, CA (March 8, 2025) – Just before 3:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, March 8, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on Kirker Pass Road near Hess.

Upon arrival, Contra Costa County fire crews located one person on the side of the road ejected from a vehicle. They were pronounced deceased at the scene. A vehicle fire broke out, with one person trapped inside, who was also later declared deceased. Due to the crash, police were warning residents to expect significant traffic delays in the area.
