Hemet, CA – Major Injury Two-Vehicle Collision at Mountain Ave & SR-74

Hemet, CA (November 1, 2025) – Authorities responded to a serious two-vehicle crash on Friday, October 31, at the intersection of Mountain Avenue and State Route 74 (Ramona Expressway) in Hemet. The incident prompted a significant emergency response from multiple agencies, including the Hemet Police Department, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, and the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Preliminary reports indicate that a blue Hyundai sedan was traveling southbound on Ramona Expressway and attempting to turn left onto Highway 74 when it was struck by a gray Ford that allegedly ran a red light. The impact caused severe damage to both vehicles and left debris scattered throughout the intersection.

Hemet Police officers were among the first on scene, providing medical assistance to a juvenile who sustained a facial laceration and other injuries. Paramedics from American Medical Response (AMR) continued treatment and transported the injured individual for further medical care. Additional sheriff’s units arrived to assist with traffic control and scene management as crews worked to clear the wreckage.

CHP has classified the incident as a major-injury traffic collision and is currently leading the investigation. Officials have not yet confirmed whether impairment or speed contributed to the crash. Traffic in the area remained heavily impacted for an extended period as emergency personnel and tow operators worked to remove the damaged vehicles and clear the roadway.
