Gardena, CA - Man Sustains Critical Injuries in Vehicle Crash on Western Ave

Gardena, CA (August 29, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision in Gardena left one man critically injured early Friday morning, August 29, at Western and Artesia Avenues, authorities said.

The crash happened around 3:27 a.m. at the intersection of Western Avenue and Artesia Boulevard and involved a Ford F-150 pickup and a Chevrolet HHR, according to Gardena police. Meanwhile, police officers arrived to find the driver of the Chevrolet unresponsive inside the vehicle, police said. Los Angeles County Fire Department crews provided medical aid before transporting the man to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors; that said, the investigation remains ongoing at this time, and no further details have been released.
