Fresno Co., CA – 28-Year-Old Driver Killed in Head-On Crash on American Ave

Fresno County, CA (September 16, 2025) – A 28-year-old man from Reedley was killed on Sunday, September 14, in a head-on collision that occurred west of Navalencia Avenue in Fresno County.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash happened at approximately 8:35 a.m. on American Avenue. According to preliminary findings, a 2016 Acura TLX traveling westbound veered into the path of an eastbound 2022 Ram Thor camper van. The front of the Acura struck the camper van head-on, causing the Acura to spin and come to rest on the south shoulder of the roadway. The camper van remained in the eastbound lane following the impact.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and confirmed that the Acura driver had sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the site of the collision. The driver of the camper van, identified as a 62-year-old man from Manhattan Beach, sustained moderate injuries and received medical attention.

A 62-year-old female passenger in the camper van, who had been asleep in the back and not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown forward during the crash. Her condition was not immediately available.

Authorities confirmed that both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the collision. Investigators also noted that alcohol or drugs do not appear to be contributing factors. The California Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
