Fresno, CA - Victims Identified in Fatal Collision at McKinley & Westlawn Aves

Fresno, CA (May 18, 2025) – Two people died and two people were injured on Thursday night in a two-vehicle collision in Fresno County west of Fresno, and officers identified the victims on Sunday.

The fatal crash happened at 9:06 p.m. at McKinley and Westlawn Avenues, California Highway Patrol Sgt. Joseph Bianchi said. According to Bianchi, a Honda Civic was traveling north on Westlawn, and a Chevrolet truck was going west on McKinley when the driver of the Civic ran a stop sign and was broadsided by the truck. The right front passenger in the Civic was pronounced dead. She was 20 years old, CHP said, and was identified by the coroner as Skye Banda of Selma.

The driver of the Civic was taken to a local hospital with major injuries. In an update on Friday morning, CHP said the 22-year-old driver later died at the hospital. The coroner identified the driver as Isac Gomez of Fresno. That said, the investigation remains ongoing at this time, and no further details have been released.
