Fresno, CA (January 12, 2025) – Officers responded to a three-vehicle collision on Sunday, January 12, that occurred near a demonstration in Fresno.
The collision occurred just after 2:00 p.m. at Blackstone Avenue, near El Paso Avenue. Police said the two lead vehicles were slowing for southbound Blackstone traffic south of Nees when the third trailing vehicle failed to slow and rear-ended one vehicle, causing that vehicle to rear-end the lead vehicle.
At least two people were injured and transported to a local hospital, though their current conditions are unknown. However, investigators with the Fresno Police Department are still looking into the official cause of the crash. No further details regarding the circumstances of the collision or the identities of the patients were provided at the time.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their family members, and we hope for their fast recovery.
Car accidents on California's clogged roads daily result in injuries, property damage, or even fatalities. Poor road conditions, speeding, reckless behavior, and distracted driving are some of the causes of the high incidence of collisions in the state.
What's more, California has a fault-based system, meaning the driver who caused the collision is responsible for the damages. Victims of auto accidents have the legal right to seek damages for lost income, medical costs, auto repairs, and other losses. Additionally, even if an injured party was partially at blame, they can still receive damages under California's comparative negligence system, though their compensation will be reduced.
After a vehicle accident, quick action is essential. Keeping track of evidence, getting police records, and getting medical help can all help support your claim. In California, the statute of limitations for filing a personal injury case is two years from the date of the accident, so it is critical to act quickly if a crash has occurred through no fault of your own and left you with damages.
