Encanto, CA - 50-Year-Old Woman Dies in Pedestrian Crash at Imperial Ave & 63rd St

Encanto, CA (May 22, 2025) - There were fatal injuries in an auto-pedestrian accident in the Encanto area on Wednesday, May 21. The deadly crash took place at the corner of Imperial Avenue and 63rd Street early that morning at around 9:30 a.m. Local reports revealed that a 50-year-old woman was walking in a crosswalk when she was struck by a 2018 Nissan Kicks crossover sport utility vehicle. 

Emergency crews were rapidly dispatched to provide aid to the injured party. Despite life-saving aid from attending medical personnel, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to local officials, the 49-year-old woman driving the SUV may have run a red light leading up to the incident. The area was temporarily closed as local authorities were present.
