Daggett, CA - Child Killed in Rollover Crash on Nat'l Trails Hwy at Ponnay St

Daggett, CA (April 7, 2025) – A crash on National Trails Highway near Ponnay Street resulted in the death of a four-year-old girl on Saturday, April 5.

According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officer Shane Sandoval, the incident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. when a black 2020 Cadillac SUV, carrying three young passengers, overturned following an apparent collision. The driver, a 30-year-old woman from Newberry Springs, was traveling eastbound on National Trails Highway with a six-month-old, a four-year-old girl, and a five-year-old when the incident took place.

The girl was pronounced dead at the scene. However, the events leading up to the collision remain unknown, and it's unclear if anybody else was hurt. The investigation continues at this time, and no further details have been released.
