Crows Landing, CA (July 25, 2025) - One person died in a motorcycle collision that happened on Thursday night, July 24, at an intersection in Crows Landing, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The accident occurred just before 11:00 p.m. at Fulkerth Road and Crows Landing Road, about 10 miles south of the city of Modesto. A motorcycle collided with a Jeep under unclear circumstances.
Firefighters and AMR responded to the scene and pronounced one person dead, and a Stanislaus County coroner representative was sent to the scene following the fatal collision. However, no further updates on the deadly crash are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials, and more information will be supplied as it continues.
We extend our sincere condolences to the deceased victim's loved ones. Our thoughts are also with any injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for a full recovery.
Riding a motorcycle offers a sense of freedom and exhilaration that few other vehicles can match. But every experienced rider understands the risks that come with sharing the road. California leads the nation with over 785,000 registered motorcycles, making it a hotspot for both riders and, unfortunately, motorcycle accidents. Alarmingly, approximately 88% of motorcycle collisions in the state result in injury or death. Each year, more than 500 people lose their lives in these crashes, placing California among the top two states for motorcycle-related fatalities.
Many of these accidents are caused by drivers who fail to check blind spots, yield at intersections, or recognize a motorcycle’s right-of-way. Because motorcycles are smaller and less visible than other vehicles, riders are often at a disadvantage—even when obeying traffic laws. High-speed impacts, limited protective gear, and road hazards like potholes can quickly turn a routine ride into a catastrophic event.
For families who lose a loved one in a fatal motorcycle accident, the emotional toll is often compounded by sudden financial stress. Funeral expenses, loss of income, and the absence of companionship and support can have lasting effects. Filing a wrongful death claim may provide a way to hold the negligent party accountable and recover the compensation needed to move forward.
