Carpinteria, CA - Injuries Reported in Truck Crash on Hwy 101

Carpinteria, CA (July 5, 2025) – All lanes of northbound Highway 101 in Carpinteria were shut down on Saturday morning, July 5, after a gasoline tanker was involved in a crash and overturned.

The crash, involving a tanker pulling a trailer and at least one other passenger vehicle, happened shortly before 7:00 a.m. south of Santa Monica Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. The trailer came to rest on its side, blocking the right two highway lanes, while the passenger vehicle was seen pulled onto the shoulder.
