Capitola, CA - Teen Airlifted After E-Bike Collision at 41st Ave & Clares St

Capitola, CA (March 15, 2025) – Capitola police are investigating a vehicle versus pedestrian crash from Thursday night, March 13, between an e-bicyclist and a semitrailer.

The crash was reported around 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of 41st Avenue and Clares Street. Police said that details are limited at this time but that the semitrailer was delivering to a nearby business. The 17-year-old male was on a Super 73 e-bike. Police say the semitrailer driver was not impaired, rendered aid to the teen, and remained at the scene.

The teen was pulled out from under the semitrailer and suffered "significant injuries," per police. They were taken by helicopter in serious but stable condition to a regional trauma center. With that said, authorities have not released additional details regarding the events leading up to the crash or the victim's current condition.
