Bakersfield, CA - Woman Killed in Two-Car Crash at Hosking Ave & Hughes Ln

Bakersfield, CA (May 22, 2025) - A vehicle collision in south Bakersfield on Wednesday, May 21, resulted in fatal injuries. The crash took place at the corner of Hosking Avenue and Hughes Lane early that morning at around 3 a.m. A woman driving a Buick Roadmaster reportedly collided with another vehicle at the intersection. 

Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. The driver of the Buick was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital by ambulance for treatment. Despite life-saving support, she later succumbed to her injuries. The male driver of the other car was not hurt and remained at the scene to cooperate with responding officials. No further information on the deadly crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
