Bakersfield, CA - Jay Easttom Identified in Deadly Collision on Hwy 14

Bakersfield, CA (March 13, 2025) – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a 93-year-old man who was killed in a car crash in Mojave.

Jay Edward Easttom, of California City, died Wednesday night after a crash. Easttom was traveling northbound on Highway 14, just south of Pine Tree Canyon Road. The wreck occurred at about 7:50 p.m., and officers said Easttom died at the scene of the wreck.
