Bakersfield, CA - Fatality Reported in Hit-and-Run on Westside Pkwy

Bakersfield, CA (May 4, 2025) – A 51-year-old man with a suspended license was arrested Saturday in connection with a deadly hit-and-run crash on the Westside Parkway, police said.

At 6:25 a.m. on May 3, officers were sent to the eastside lanes of Westside Parkway near the Mohawk Street off-ramp. They found a man suffering fatal injuries who was apparently hit by a vehicle that left the scene, according to the Bakersfield Police Department. His name has not been released.

That afternoon, the suspect vehicle was located in the 7300 block of Stockdale Highway, police said, and the alleged driver was arrested at about 6:15 p.m., records showed. In the meantime, the incident remains under investigation.
