Bakersfield, CA (August 21, 2025) – At least one person is dead after a bicycle crash in Tehachapi on Thursday morning, August 21.
The bicyclist was identified as Dee Roy Crowell, 81, of Tehachapi by the Kern County Coroner's Office. He died at the scene. The CHP’s website said on Thursday, at around 8:22 a.m., there was a report of a crash between a vehicle and a bicycle on Highline Road and Tehachapi Willow Springs Road. The cause of the collision was not immediately known, but police said neither speed nor impairment by drugs or alcohol appeared to be factors based on a preliminary investigation.
