Bakersfield, CA - Cyclist Identified in Fatal Crash on Roberts Ln

Bakersfield, CA (June 20, 2025) – On June 20, the Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the bicyclist struck and killed on Roberts Lane earlier last week as 34-year-old Carissa Marie Sileo of Bakersfield.

The California Highway Patrol said on June 15, at around 11:38 p.m., officers were called to Roberts Lane, just east of Plymouth Avenue, for a crash between a vehicle and a bicycle.

CHP said a preliminary investigation found that a 2013 Chevrolet Impala, driven by a 21-year-old man, was traveling westbound on Roberts Lane, in the number two lane, east of Plymouth Avenue, when the incident took place. Sileo was struck and killed, though the driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and was not hurt. The incident remains under inquiry, however.
