Winchester, CA – DUI Suspect Arrested Following Two-Vehicle Collision at Simpson Rd

Winchester, CA (November 4, 2025) – The California Highway Patrol (CHP) and CAL FIRE personnel responded late Saturday evening, November 1, at approximately 10:26 p.m., to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Simpson Road and Whittier Avenue in Winchester.

According to the official CHP Traffic Incident Log (Incident #0205), the crash occurred at approximately 10:26 p.m. and involved a white sedan and a Dodge Ram pickup truck in the San Gorgonio Pass area. Responding emergency crews arrived to find one female passenger from the Dodge Ram suffering from neck pain and visible bruising. Paramedics provided on-scene medical care before transporting her to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.

During the course of the investigation, CHP officers determined that the driver of the white sedan was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The driver was unable to complete a field sobriety test and admitted to being impaired. A breathalyzer test later confirmed that his blood alcohol content was significantly above the legal limit.

Officers also discovered an open case of Modelo beer inside the suspect’s vehicle, with one bottle partially consumed. While being questioned near the patrol unit, the driver engaged in disorderly conduct, reportedly urinating on a CHP patrol car tire in full view of officers. The individual was taken into custody at the scene and transported to a local detention facility on charges of driving under the influence.

Authorities closed the affected area temporarily while investigators documented the scene and cleared the roadway. The California Highway Patrol continues to review evidence related to the crash and the driver’s actions before the collision.
