Los Angeles, CA – Car Crashes into Train on Third St & Ford Blvd, One Hospitalized

Los Angeles, CA (August 30, 2025) – A person was hospitalized after their car collided with a train and then crashed into the sign of King Taco in East Los Angeles on Friday morning, August 29. The incident occurred at around 9:46 a.m. at the corner of Third Street and Ford Boulevard.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a Black SUV struck the nearby Metro E train before slamming into the large sign outside King Taco. The impact of the crash caused significant damage, with a pylon supporting the sign being visibly damaged in aerial footage captured by SkyCal. Fortunately, the building itself appeared to have escaped any structural damage.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department quickly responded to the scene, where they found the driver of the SUV injured. Emergency responders transported the driver to a nearby hospital for treatment. The condition of the individual is currently unknown, and authorities have not released any further details about the victim’s injuries.

At the crash site, the aftermath of the incident could be seen clearly. The SUV’s collision with the train caused a chain reaction, pushing the vehicle into the King Taco sign. Authorities confirmed that no train passengers were injured in the incident, and no other vehicles were involved.

Our thoughts are with the injured individual, and we hope for a swift and full recovery.

Investigating the Impact of Car-Train Collisions and Legal Recourse

Car-train accidents, though less common, can be especially dangerous and lead to severe consequences for those involved. In this case, the combination of a collision with a train and the subsequent impact with a large sign resulted in significant damage to property and left one individual injured.

These types of accidents can occur for various reasons, including driver error, poor visibility at crossings, or mechanical failure. Regardless of the cause, the consequences for the victims can be devastating.

For those injured in such accidents, the road to recovery can be long and complicated. Injuries may require immediate medical care, long-term rehabilitation, and significant time off work, creating both physical and financial strain for the victim and their family. In addition, emotional trauma caused by such an event can lead to lasting psychological effects, further complicating the healing process.

When accidents like this occur, determining fault is essential for the victim to seek compensation for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and property damage.

Legal action can also help ensure that any negligent parties are held accountable. For instance, if the train company was found to be at fault due to equipment failure or if the driver was distracted or impaired, the injured party could seek compensation from multiple sources, including the driver’s insurance and, in some cases, the train operator’s insurance.
