San Diego, CA - Pedestrian Injured in Fiery Accident on SR 67 at Quail Rock Rd

San Diego, CA (July 19, 2025) – The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said that, around midnight on Friday, July 19, a fiery crash took place on State Route 67 near Quail Rock Road.

A small SUV was in flames near Quail Rock Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. Less than an hour after the initial call, it was discovered that a pedestrian was found around two miles away from the burning SUV, and a drone search was requested to find out if another pedestrian was struck in the area, according to CHP.

It's not clear what led up to the crash. However, no further information was provided, and the current condition of the person hit is unknown. An investigation remains ongoing in the interim.
